New year new Mainframe Games.
This year we're going to start ramping things up. Gareth and I have been working on Out of Sight as a hobby for a long time now. Longer than we'd like to admit.
However, this year we're hoping to change all that. Not only are we working on the development of Out of Sight and prototyping our new game Buy My Snake Oil, but we're also working on pitch decks for these games to pitch to potential publishers and investors. On top of that, we're also applying for as many government grants as we can to try to kickstart us and get the ball rolling.
We've started the year by applying for the NZ Film Commission Interactive Development Fund. If successful, this will give us a MASSIVE step in the right direction by allowing one of us to go full-time putting more resources into the games as well as the company.
Later on this year, we plan to apply for a CODE grant now that they are extending outside of Dunedin. If successful with that we'll be one step closer to both being full-time working Mainframe Games and looking to expand the studio. We're also hoping to obtain these grants will pique the interest of investors as they won't have to do all the financial heavy lifting.
I plan to keep a monthly journal of our progress via this blog. So if this kind of thing interests you, behind the scenes of two struggling indie game developers then I suggest you sign up for our newsletter. The form is on the front page of our website. That way you will be notified of all new activities :)
If you really love what we're about I further extend an invite to our discord server where you can give us feedback and be a part of the development process.
Let's go get it!
